Do you want to do something outside?If you do then you can go on a nature walk. Be carful for snakes. You can see cool wildlife on the trail. Remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, water, food.

Do you know about the Rockhounds? They are a minor league baseball team. You could see if you have a minor league team near your city.  They’re good baseball players. They win a lot of games. The players in the field are great at catching. Sometimes, when the players come in from the field they will throw you a ball before they go into their dugout.

At the end of games sometimes they even stay to sign your ball. With some teams, if you get there an hour early kids can sign up to play games on the field between innings.   Kids often win prizes at the game!

 

Do you want to paint rocks? Well if you do the things you will need is a paint brush and paint. You will also need googly eyes.

First, you will need to paint the whole rock. Then you paint a line down the middle. Next, you can put polka dots on each side. Then, you glue the googly  eyes at the front. Last, let them dry.

You can paint them any color you want.  You can paint them red, orange, blue, yellow, purple, black, white, green, tan, light green, or even mix colors!

 

 

 

Do you want to go strawberry picking? Well if you do than either grow your own strawberries or go to a strawberry patch. A strawberry patch will normally cost $6 per person or they might charge you around $3 per pound.

Strawberries grow on small vines.Sometimes the strawberries are hiding in the vines so you have to pull back the vine but not too hard.

You should always put your strawberries in your bucket not your tummy, but you might want to try one or two. You can use any type of bucket or basket to hold your berries.  If it’s hot and sunny you should wear a hat and sunscreen.

Make sure you only pick the strawberries that are bright red. If the strawberries are green then don’t pick them because they’re not ripe. If you’re eating a strawberry don’t eat the stem. The stems on the strawberries are always green.

When get home and want to taste your harvest, remember to only cut off the top green stem section.   Also, did you know it’s okay to eat the seeds on the strawberries?

Lastly, sometimes at strawberry patches they sell strawberry jam, so you might want to bring a few extra dollars  to buy some goodies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here’s a thing to do outside. You can plant a garden. All you need is a big place for your garden. A suggestion is a brick box that is big.

You want to know what we grow? We grow golden beets, cucumbers, carrots, basil, squash, strawberries, mint, and tomatoes.

If there’s old soil then cover it up with new good soil. If you you see a worm don’t kill it! Worms actually can help your garden. If you want your garden to stay alive water it about 3 times a week.

Do you want your plants to grow well? If you do then you have to thin some of the plants. Thinning the plants helps your plants have enough space to grow big! If the leaves on your plants have a brownish look on them water them more. Then if you see holes in your plants you might want to look for aphids. If you see aphids you should buy some Ladybugs. Ladybugs eat aphids so it’s a natural way to help your garden grow.  Your plants should always be green.

Did you know that plants can be above the ground or under the ground? If you are growing tomatoes you should have a metal case around it. They grow above the ground. Golden beets are an example of a plant that grows underground. If you would like some color near your garden, you can plant flowers around it to make it look nice.

One idea to help you remember  what the plants are called is to put in wooden posts with the names written on it so you can remember. You shouldn’t pick them when they’re baby sprouts because they won’t have any food on them for you to eat. Be patient. It usually take plant between 50-80 days to grow into a full plant.

Next you put mulch for the second layer.Next you put soil for the third layer. Next you put mulch for the fourth layer. Next you put in poles so the tree can stand up. Finally you will water it about 3 times a week maybe 4 times a day

 

 

Do you want to know how to weed? Well the first step is to get a weeding tool and a bucket to put the weeds into. Then you go to a place where there are a lot of weeds.Next you dig into the ground and pull up the weed.Next you put the weed in the bucket. You never want to put the weeds in your yard because they will grow again.

Do you want to go tubing? Well just go to a snowy place like Colorado and tube. Did you know that tubing is so fun you can spin.

 

 

 

Do you want to go kite flying? Well all you need is your kite then go outside and fly it. If you want the kite to fly it has to be a windy day. But if you don’t have a big backyard go to a park or mowed field.
